Trained Identifiers - Identifying players using a game-centred Approach

This takes the form of an online video resource and replaces what was the old Talent ID workshop.

The video is aimed primarily at club coaches and teachers who are responsible for nominating players to attend Satellite or County Academy trials, however it is also very relevant to those coaching in County and Satellite Academies.

GMCNA Satellite and Academy Coaches & Assistants/Managers

If you are interested in being a Coach or Assistant/Manager & you meet the following criteria then please complete an application form and return it to me Sam Longley by 15th August 2015 (expressions of interest by 9th August 2015)
  • Under 14’s Academies – 2 Academies alternative weeks for approximately 15 weeks – Tuesday’s
  • Under 16’s Academy – 1 group every week for approximately 30 weeks – Wednesday’s

You may not be able to do a full 15/30 weeks but if you can offer County 2 or more weeks of your time please apply stating this on your application

The overall Lead on the Academies is Sam Longley (also Chairman of GMCNA)

Coach – Under 14 and Under 16 (please state on application form)
  • Are you passionate about coaching, keen to progress and develop athletes on their skills working within the England Performance programme?
  • Are you an experienced Level 2 or working towards Level 3 Netball Coach with experience?
  • Are you available on Tuesday &/or Wednesday evenings?
  • If so your County needs you so please apply to be a Coach for one of our Academies.
As a Lead Coach you will be responsible for ensuring sessions are planned in line with the framework. Support Assistant coaches giving them weekly tasks. You will be the main contact for the athletes and as such will take a lead on being their main support. You will support them with homework and any other queries. You will be required to carry out written assessments on the athletes.

Academy Assistant/Manager– Under 14 and Under 16 (please state on application form)
  • Are you passionate about coaching and administration and keen to offer support to athletes?
  • Are you a Level 1 Netball Coach or above?
  • Are you available on Tuesday /or Wednesday evenings?
  • If so your County needs you so please apply to be an Assistant/Manager for one of our Academies.

As an Assistant/ Manager you will be able to deliver sections of coaching sessions and get involved when appropriate, you will be responsible for collecting fees, collating relevant paperwork, monitoring equipment, monitoring athletes’ diaries/progress reports and much more.

Back to Netball coming Back to Bury Parks this Summer

Played netball at school? Never played, but would love to give it a try? Want to do something fun and active with your friends?
Back to netball sessions are just for you!

Sessions provide a gentle introduction/re-introduction to the game for women over sixteen and are led by qualified coaches. You can just turn up, pay a small fee, and you can expect to cover basic skills like passing and footwork and even play in a fun match.  Whether it is about rediscovering sporting abilities you forgot you had or about getting active again, Back to Netball caters for all abilities and giggles are guaranteed.

Netball session cover all forms of health and fitness from burning up to an average of 458 calories per session to 'natural ingredients' such a fun and friends!  

Sessions can also be tailored to suit specific participant needs- we could try 'walking netball' for a more gentle activity or 'fit net' sessions that focus predominantly on fitness and intensity!
