As well as the policy England Netball has a wide, accessible and effective education and training programme so that clubs, volunteers, players, coaches, umpires and parents are protected fully in their netball journey.
Here at NW Netball not only do we support and promote clubs that are CAPS accredited we also offer a wide range of services to ensure safeguarding is at the heart of every netball club.
Services on offer include:
- CRB checks for affiliated clubs for a current £11.50.
- Safeguarding training courses are available for details of the next available course.
- Further to the Safeguarding training there is a ‘Time to Listen’ workshop. This course is aimed at Club Welfare Officers and builds upon the Safeguarding training - this is a prerequisite to attend the time to listen workshop. The course uses practical examples and case studies to enable participants to understand the role of the Welfare Officer in the club as well as ensuring that young people in your care are effectively.
- Duty of care templates. Such templates show the club how to put in place the relevant resources and procedures as a club to ensure safeguarding is at the heart of the member and are FREE to download from our national website.
- Safeguarding online refresher tasks. The national website has a safeguarding check list which is only £6 per candidate and helps support ongoing knowledge and understanding for club personnel. This can be used annually to refresh your accreditation.
