National Schools – Road to Liverpool & Beyond
Introduction
The 2018/19 netball season is set to be an incredibly special one as we continue to celebrate and enjoy the phenomenal Gold Medal winning performance of the Roses; whilst also preparing and building the excitement for a home Netball World Cup during the summer of 2019 in Liverpool.
With this in mind England Netball is making the most of this unique moment in our sports history and aims to inspire generations of women and girls to embrace netball and achieve things they never dreamed possible.
So, as we embark on ‘The Road to Liverpool’ we hope that the power of the Netball World Cup can encourage even more schools to enable even more children and young people to experience all that netball has to offer in lots of ways.
This briefing note provides local competition organisers with a brief overview of how the 18/19 National Schools competition will form part of our Schools Road to Liverpool aiming to enthuse and inspire more schools to get involved and potentially giving their students a money can’t buy opportunity at the Netball World Cup.
What does this mean for National Schools Competition?
All schools that enter the initial, county round of the National Schools competition in 18/19 season will take their place on the ‘Road to Liverpool’. Some schools will go on and literally join us in Liverpool at the Netball World Cup; whilst others will complete part of the journey, before we hope they join and support the Roses ‘virtually’ from their own school assembly hall or classroom.
To support this England Netball will;
The templates and further details will be provided later in August, before the start of the new school term. Also throughout the various rounds of competition we will provide further information & resources for both schools and Local Competition Organisers to ensure that collectively we inspire hundreds of young women and girls to embrace netball and achieve things they never dreamed possible.
We look forward to travelling with you on the Schools Road to Liverpool
