County Screening Trials 2017 - 2018
Dear All
There is much confusion re the forth coming season in relation to County Trials.
There will be significant changes for the 2017/2018 season due to the franchise’s, so in our case Manchester Thunder taking over some of the Performance programmes (old Regional programmes).
The finer details are not confirmed as yet hence the delay in communication but trials will be open to all to apply and will be in September and October at the Under 21, 17, 15 and Year 8/9 categories.
Counties will be able to nominate some players who have been in the county programmes this year at under 15 level who will go straight through to final trials.
This has meant that each County will run their own programmes moving forward next season and therefore trial information will be issued by each county accordingly. Cheshire have already released theirs and their applications are now closed. Lancashire will be running U13 & U15 academies and details of the eligibility criteria and September trial dates will be publicised soon Manchester will be running Under 15 and Under 13 academies but trials will probably not take place until after Thunder have carried out their trials – the programmes will be open to all and will be shorter but more intense. Official details will be issued in coming weeks. Merseyside and Cumbria will issue information in the coming weeks on their plans.
We apologise for the delay in circulating this information but ideally we wanted to have everything confirmed prior to release BUT we are aware people are panicking as Cheshire closes today.
