Sarah has worked in the media for the last 20 years - both TV (Commercial) and Radio, commercial and BBC National/local BBC. In her current role she is Sports Editor at BBC Radio Manchester.
Sarah's always had a passion for netball, playing since school days, at University and still plays for her club. She is Vice Chair of Dominoes NC and works closely with all areas of the club particularly the Juniors and 'Back to' sessions. She's a Level 2 Coach and has also done umpiring courses. She's passionate about making Netball inclusive for all and works within the club's community to ensure this is done to the best of the club's ability. Sarah also tries to promote netball at all levels, from her own club, to Superleague and on an International Level wherever possible. In September 2010 Sarah won the England Netball National Rose Award for her ongoing services to Netball.
Fiona Rose – Vice-Chair
Fiona has a science and business background, having worked in the private sector and in management roles within blue-chip multinational companies across the UK over the last 20+ years.
Fiona has had a life-long interest in netball, from her schooldays in Blackpool to her involvement today at club, county and regional level. She is passionate about the need to engage and recruit volunteers into netball not only to support current and future demand for qualified coaches and officials, but also for admin, management and support roles – the backbone of our club and county organisations. Fiona has held positions as Chair, Secretary and Coach at Knutsford Netball Club, and more recently Welfare Officer for Tameside NC; U14 Team manager, Competitions manager, Trials manager and Sponsorship manager for Cheshire County Netball; and Volunteering Manager and Vice-Chair of North West Netball.
Estelle Graham – Competitions Manager
Estelle has a business background in the Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing area. Estelle joined the NW Regional Board as Communications Officer and helped to develop the website. Her current position is Competitions Manager, overlooking all netball competition in the region. She is a Coach and Umpire at Warrington Town Netball club, holding Netball level 2 Coaching qualification, B Umpire qualification and Table Official Qualification.
Estelle is also the secretary of Cheshire Netball and a Team Manager of Northern Thunder Superleague squad 2010/11.
Andrea Whiston – Treasurer
Andrea brings to the NW Board her vast experience from financial services industry. She has held the position on the NW Netball treasurer for several years. She is a member of Knutsford Netball Club. Andrea has recently qualified as IFNA A Umpire.
Paul Harper – Excel Officer
After serving 30 years as a Police Officer, Paul has recently taken on the role of High Peak Netball Schools Netball coach. This has been a great challenge for Paul and one that he thoroughly enjoys. He is also the Netball Coach for Silcoates School in Wakefield, Yorkshire.
During the 14 years that Paul has been involved with netball and Tameside Netball club, which he helps to run, Paul has been fortunate to have been mentored by Kath Pemberton and Marion Lofthouse and has attained Level 3 Netball Coaching Award.
Paul is currently the Head Coach of Northern Thunder NTL and more recently, Northern Thunder Youth Academy. He also assists Northwest Regional Talent Coach - Karen Greig in delivering the Excel program. As Excel Officer for the Northwest Regional Board, Paul is able to report back to the North West Management Board with developments with Northern Thunder NTL and Excel.
Since taking on the role of the Northwest Regional Head Scout, Paul has delivered scouting courses to each County in the region, meaning that there is a Regional Head Scout in place currently, as well as a number of qualified scouts for each County.
