England Netball currently provides a number of schemes to help Clubs by broadening the game’s appeal and giving greater access to our sport.
CAPS – Club Action Planning Scheme
CAPS is an accreditation scheme, directly linked to Sport England’s Clubmark scheme, that offers guidelines to help clubs provide a quality environment for its members – players, coaches and umpires at all levels.
The CAPS Scheme is based on accepted sports development ideas and makes them flexible enough to fit with your club’s current activities. The scheme focuses on four key areas that impact Netball clubs:
Duty of Care and Child ProtectionCoaching and CompetitionClub Management/AdministrationSports Equity and EthicsCAPS offers Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of achievement, highlighting further development work whilst ensuring that all clubs have the chance to shine.
We encourage Clubs to sign up to CAPS for variety of reasons – for development and growth, to work with schools, to enter certain competitions and to achieve recognition from, amongst others, players, carers, parents, local authorities, County Sport Partnerships and other clubs.
It’s not just about paperwork and filling in forms. In fact, most clubs find that the CAPS process highlights all the good development work that they are already doing.
